Amitabh Bachchan's Ayodhya property portfolio has crossed ₹100 crore, making him the temple city's largest celebrity real estate investor.
Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has become one of the biggest celebrity investors in Ayodhya. With property investments now estimated to be worth more than ₹100 crore, the actor has steadily expanded his real estate portfolio in the temple city over the last few years.
Born in Uttar Pradesh, Amitabh Bachchan has strengthened his connection with the state through a series of land purchases in Ayodhya. His investments reflect the growing confidence that high-net-worth individuals have in the city's real estate market.
In March 2026, Amitabh Bachchan bought a 2.67-acre land parcel for ₹35 crore from Mumbai-based developer The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL). The land is located close to HoABL's 75-acre Sarayu project. This was his third investment with the developer in Ayodhya.
In May 2025, the actor purchased a 25,000 sq ft plot near The Sarayu for nearly ₹40 crore. The deal further increased his property holdings in the fast-growing temple town.
Earlier in March 2025, Amitabh Bachchan acquired a 54,454 sq ft land parcel around 10 km from the Ram Mandir in the name of the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Trust. According to reports, the land is expected to be used for a memorial dedicated to his father, renowned Hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
In 2024, following preparations for the Ram Temple consecration ceremony, Bachchan bought a 10,000 sq ft plot in HoABL's premium mixed-use development, The Sarayu, for ₹14.5 crore.
Before the grand inauguration of the Ram Temple in January 2024, Amitabh Bachchan entered the Ayodhya property market by purchasing a 5,372 sq ft plot in Haveli Avadh for ₹4.54 crore.
Ayodhya has emerged as one of India's fastest-growing real estate markets. According to a report by Liases Foras, the city is witnessing strong demand because of improving infrastructure, rising spiritual tourism and increasing investor interest.
The report says land prices in Ayodhya have grown at a 19% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) and could rise to 25% by 2035.
Over the past five years, the city has seen major infrastructure upgrades, including the development of an international airport, better road and rail connectivity, and the construction of the Ram Mandir. Prime locations such as the Sarayu riverfront and the Ram Mandir corridor have recorded land price appreciation of more than 4.5 times between 2020 and 2025.
With investments worth over ₹100 crore, Amitabh Bachchan has built one of the largest celebrity real estate portfolios in Ayodhya. His continued investments also highlight the city's growing appeal as a long-term destination for both investors and developers.
